Monica D. Smith is President for JP Davis &
Associates, Inc., a position she has held
since January, 1999. Monica has an extensive and varied
background in the area of food service which allows
JP Davis & Associates, Inc. to offer a
distinctive selection of offerings to their clients.
She
is a graduate of Appalachian State University in
Boone, North Carolina and holds a BS degree in Food
and Nutrition with a concentration in Food Systems
Management and a minor in Business Administration.
Monica has nearly fifteen years of experience in
business and industry including a management and
operations background in high volume sales organizations.
A creative and sensitive individual, Monica is frequently
sought out for her ability to present old programs
in a refreshing and unique manner resulting in a
renewed and enthusiastic workforce. Her ability
to create and stimulate others to creativity provides
the company's clientele with new opportunities for
employee development and behavior modification.
Her presentations are designed to gently "shock"
people out of their comfort zones by inspiring them
to achieve greater productivity, efficiency, and
confidence by encouraging and motivating others
to generate and implement new ideas and techniques
for the company. She designs and directs all work
efforts related to the company's marketing materials,
website, and program offerings. Monica applies the
client's persona to the program offerings of JP
Davis & Associates, Inc. to provide
a one-of-a-kind offering for each of their customers.
Monica's
experience in food service organizations includes
all aspects of meal and event planning from selection
to presentation. As a result, JP Davis &
Associates, Inc. is able to offer their
clients a complete service product from site selection
to all aspects of event planning and management.
Monica's business experience allows her to negotiate
the best terms and prices for the client and still
provide a top-notch retreat, planning session, workshop,
reception, conference, or any other corporate event
for small as well as large groups of people.
An
active community volunteer, Monica has specifically
developed relationships with individuals in the
Latino culture to help bring an understanding of
their growth and cultural background to members
of the dominant culture. She has often been sought
out and recognized for her participation in and
contribution to various community groups, most of
whose efforts are directed to improving the quality
of life for all human beings. She currently serves
as Secretary for the Literacy Council, a non-profit
organization which has significantly impacted the
literacy rate of Gaston County. She also serves
as a member of the Board of Directors of Gaston
Together, a grass-roots organization aimed at involving
and empowering citizens in the process of improving
their community.
Monica
is a certified consultant in the Five Factor Model
of personality, a certified Diversity Instructor,
and holds additional certifications in the areas
of women's issues and customer service.
